Host organization — Kaede Cultural Society

The Kaede Cultural Society of Calgary is a non-profit registered in 1979 under Alberta’s Societies Act. The society actively shares Japanese culture in Calgary — from involvement in the 1988 Olympic opening ceremony and a ceremony for a visiting member of the Japanese Imperial family at the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden, to more recent work helping launch Calgary’s Midnight Taiko drumming group and the YOSOCA Yosakoi team. It has also helped establish scholarships and grants at four major Alberta institutions: the University of Lethbridge, the University of Calgary, Mount Royal University, and the University of Alberta.

Address: 2236 29 St SW, Calgary, AB T3E 2K2 — office inside the Calgary Japanese Community Association.
