The Parade パレード
KOKUYOSA opens the way festivals in Kochi do: with a street parade. All twelve teams dance the traditional Yosakoi Naruko Odori and the festival mass dances as they move through the venue, at 9:30 and again at 14:00. Find a spot along the route and let 150 dancers come to you.
高知のお祭りと同じく、KOKUYOSAはパレードで幕を開けます。全12チームが伝統のよさこい鳴子踊りと総踊り曲を踊りながら会場を進みます(9:30と14:00の2回)。沿道で150名の踊り子をお迎えください。
Partnership Performances パートナーシップ演舞
A KOKUYOSA original. North American teams are paired with teams from Japan and spend months learning a choreography from their Japanese partner team, then perform it together on stage. The choreography stays with the North American team after the festival, so the connection keeps dancing. The pairs this year (14:15): SoftBank ONE with APPARE and Kazanami, NARUTAKA with KIZUNA International, and SUN with YOSOCA.
北米のチームが日本のチームとペアを組み、その演目を数ヶ月かけて習得して本番のステージで一緒に踊る、KOKUYOSAオリジナルのプログラム。振り付けは祭りの後も北米チームに受け継がれます。今年の組み合わせ(14:15〜)=SoftBank×APPARE&華鎖波/なるたか×絆国際/燦×夜奏華。
The Contest and Awards コンテストと審査
Every team performs twice for the judges: a 6-minute round in the morning and a 12-minute round in the afternoon. Naruko clappers and a yosakoi or soran-bushi musical phrase are required in every entry. Awards include the Grand Prize, the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden Award, Excellence Awards for Dream, Creativity and Japanese Refinement, the Special Award from the judges, and the Naruko Award. The Grand Prize team dances once more at the closing ceremony.
各チームは午前6分・午後12分の2回、審査員の前で演舞します。鳴子の使用と、よさこい鳴子踊りまたはソーラン節のフレーズを含む楽曲が条件。大賞・日加友好ガーデン賞・優秀賞「夢」「創」「粋」・審査員特別賞・鳴子賞などが贈られ、大賞チームは閉会式でもう一度演舞を披露します。

Please note: the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden interior is closed to visitors during the festival weekend due to paving repairs. All performances take place on the festival grounds.※開催期間中、日加友好庭園(庭園内)は舗装工事のため入場できません。演舞・催しはすべて隣接する会場エリアで行われます。
Admission is free and everyone is welcome, no tickets needed.入場無料・チケット不要。どなたでもご参加いただけます。
